One-Eye and Corrigan are attacked at the Princess Bar by a gang of Yakuza killers.
At the same time Prince Garan holds a meeting at his palace with their leader and local bosses, the Tiger and General Coy.
The subject of the meeting was the exploitation of Madripoor spider monkeys to extract a cancer serum.
Given that these monkeys are a protected species and that harvesting kills them, the operation is highly illegal.
The attack on Logan was decided in advance, to prevent his intervention.
The Tiger warns the others of the danger they are in and waits to take sides.
Wolverine of course survives the attack, eliminating nearly all of the Yakuza men.
