Elizabeth is a 17-year-old student with a passion for artistic gymnastics.
She spends her nights around the city (New York) making provocative murals, which she signs with the pseudonym "Sprayliz".
The only one who knows her secret is her best friend Kate, madly in love with her.
The mayor of the city does everything possible to capture her, without ever succeeding.
Liz begins a relationship with a black policeman, initially a victim of her daring escapes.
But Kate doesn't give up on her, occasionally managing to involve her in sapphic relationships, even if Liz is still confused about her sexual tastes.
Kate has other girlfriends too, including a snob who treated her with contempt, but later confessed she was attracted to her.
Sprayliz's enemy number 1 is a violent cop, Kinnock, suspended for unjustified violence, but called back to catch Sprayliz.
Finally, another street performer joins Liz's love life.
Sprayliz is a fun series, a bit rough in style (which however improves in subsequent series), which represented the debut of Enoch in the magazine "Intrepido".
A pleasant read, even if the 244-page volume is a bit challenging.
Topical topics are touched upon, still today after 30 years, such as domestic violence, sex education and freedom of expression.
