Wolverine meets his old friend Puck, from Alpha Flight.
Simultaneously Lady Deathstrike is hunting Logan to avenge her father's death and recover his adamantium.
Lady Deathstrike chases him across the world thanks to the powers of Gateway, controlled by the Reavers.
While Logan and Puck are reminiscing about the time they didn't know they shared in the Spanish Civil War, Lady Deathstrike swoops in on them.
Gateway's powers bring all three to 1937 Spain, Guernica.
Puck and Logan are greeted by Inez and Ernest Hemingway, with whom they already seem familiar.
The quartet is forced to flee Guernica due to the Nazi bombing, on behalf of the Francoist Separatists.

Galactus attacks Excalibur to release the Phoenix power from Rachel Summers' body, killing her.
Her teammates attack Galactus and Nova, his herald, to protect her.
The Observer, Roma from Otherworld and Death (the eternal rival of the Phoenix, who instead represents Life) come to assist the battle.
When Galactus is about to triumph, thanks to Rachel's voluntary sacrifice, the three entities convince him to give up, in order not to upset the cosmic balance.
At the end of the story we see Kitty Pryde forced by Courtney Ross to return to high school.
