A scientist, Dr. Turner, has invented a machine that can analyze Spider-Man's powers for medical purposes.
Spider-Man agrees to be analyzed, but soon after, his powers begin to work in fits and starts.
To convince him to return to his laboratory, the scientist hires the Femmes Fatales: Mindblast, Whiplash, Bloodlust and Knockout.
After the triumphant confrontation, Peter talks about it with Mary Jane and decides to have his powers permanently removed.

Doctor Turner subjects Spider-Man to his machine again and Peter loses his powers.
Black Tarantula does a bank robbery to lure Spider-Man.
Spider-Man shows up on the spot despite being powerless and is helped by Flash Thompson.
Flash is poisoned by Tarantula and Felicia steps in to save him, defeating the criminal.
Tarantula was hired by Dr. Turner, who is now looking for Scorpio.

The Syndicated Sinister continues to successfully conclude robberies as Boomerang prepares for trial.
In Court The Syndicated Sinister attacks to free his colleague, but Spider-Man's intervention prevents Boomerang from escaping.
Spider-Man also manages to put a spider-spy on Rhino, but when he reaches it, he finds Attorney Guillermo tied to a bomb.
