Captain America is disappointed with Falcon's behavior against Solarr, but when he seeks support from his girlfriend Sharon Carter, he discovers that she is missing.
The SHIELD refuses to help him, so he tracks down Falcon and asks for help.
Sharon wakes up in a psychiatric hospital after a car accident.
When she receives a visit from her parents, she realizes that she's in the same hospital where a mysterious veiled woman she knows is being treated.
The doctor who treats both of them is Doctor Faustus, a skilled hypnotist.
When Captain America and Falcon reach the hospital they are attacked by the Hooded Commander's men and stunned.
Upon awakening, they are with Sharon, apparently on a battlefield in occupied France during World War II.

Meanwhile, Colonel Baxter and his wife Pat (who will become Hellcat) arrive at his laboratory at the Brand Corporation.
Mastermind convinces Beast to steal a diamond for them.
Beast breaks free from Mastermind's mind control, defeats the three mutants and returns the diamond to its rightful owner.
