Caitlin manages to escape the creature thanks to Roxy's help.
Gen13 find John Lynch, who survived the shooting down of their plane.
Lynch explains that the monster is none other than an ESP child, like them (therefore a Gen13, i.e. son of the Gen12).
The boys try to save him, but he is just a newborn who knows nothing but violence.
Grunge has an intuition and lets himself be absorbed by the monster, thus teaching him some serenity.
The monster commits suicide, now aware of what he has done.
Caitlin buries him in a secret location.

Taboo manages to escape Lilitu, along with Backlash's seemingly lifeless body.
Helping her is the mercenary Serge, who was hired for this task by the man she wanted to capture, Branum.
Their escape is short-lived and they are taken prisoner by Lilitu.
The woman, an immortal vampire, subdues Serge and ties Reed up to take her costume.
Marc Slayton, meanwhile, wakes up shortly before his autopsy is performed.

As soon as he awakens, Backlash believes he is still in Medieval Japan, facing samurai (this revelation confirms his Cherubic origins).
Not far away Jody and CyberJack are trying to find and save them.
Serge's partner Mahkinot also joins them.
Backlash meanwhile has returned to his senses and is preparing to save Reed.
Lilitu discovers that Reed's costume links her to Calobis, a mystical creature she met in the distant past (it is not known whether a Demonite or a vampire).
Marc interrupts the separation, while Reed manages not to give in to Calobis' possession.
When Mahkinot bursts into the room, allowing sunlight to filter through, Lilitu flees.
Back at base, Backlash is visited by Michael Cray.
