Sean Cassidy, aka Banshee, returns to the Westchester School for Gifted Youngsters after a long absence.
The X-Men's behavior alarms him, until he discovers that they have all been replaced by Phalanx, with the exception of Jubilee, Sabretooth and Emma Frost.
He manages to defeat the fake X-Men and discovers that the techno-organic aliens are looking for some young mutants.
Monet Saint-Croix, aka M, is captured by Phalanx.
The next targets of Phalanx, which includes Steven Lang (creator of the Sentinels) and Cameron Hodge (former X-Factor collaborator), are Paige Guthrie, Jubilee and Everett (Synch).
