Stormwatch detects an asteroid approaching Earth and sends two shuttles to investigate.
The expedition discovers that the asteroid is actually a kind of spaceship.
Only one of the shuttles manages to take off, but communications are cut off and Stormwatch has no idea what happened.

Warren Ellis chooses a crossover with Dark Horse to mark the end of Stormwatch and introduces an “Alien” invasion.
An escape pod lands on Earth from Stormwatch's orbital base.
On board is only Flint, a Stormwatch agent, who is badly burned.
The woman reports that there has been an alien invasion on board and Jackson King has declared a quarantine.
The Wildc.a.t.s decide to intervene, mistakenly assuming that they are Demonites.
On board they find many Aliens and a lot of dead, including Fahrenheit, Hellstrike and Fuji.
The Wildc.a.t.s manage to rescue the survivors, including Jackson King and Christine Trelane.
Winter, the only other surviving Esp, decides to sacrifice himself by leading Skywatch into the Sun.

Jackson King and Christine Trelane bury their dead.
Missing from the ceremony are members of Black Stormwatch: Jack Hawksmoor, Jenny Sparks and Shen Limin, who remain incognito and active.
Jenny Sparks kills Henry Bendix, before he can enact another of his diabolical plans.
Jack and Shen save the life of Malcom King, the Weatherman's brother, who is hospitalized in a coma after a Stormwatch mission.
Jenny decides that they will continue to protect Earth, even without Stormwatch.
The end of Stormwatch, the prelude to Authority, and a hint at Monarchy.
