Max, the arsonist, also manages to escape from Batman, who then tracks down Carla, of the CIA.

While Jeremy is in the lab, Smith attacks Priscilla and amputates her legs with his rays.
When Maul comes to her aid, he is blinded by the killer, but manages to fight him off.
Spartan is informed of the attack.

Midnighter learned from the former doctor that the Earth will reverse poles in two days, killing everyone.
Authority evacuates all humanity to other parallel dimensions.
Now that the Earth is deserted, they make a deal with the old Doctor, who convinces the Earth not to flip the poles, in exchange for his powers back for an hour.
Doctor challenges Authority to stop him.
