After discovering, the Alpha Flight travel through time to discover the link between Stang and Ranaq.
They discover that Lucas Stang and his partner Zebedia Chase have threatened an Indian shaman for his magical power.
The shaman relents and frees Ranaq, who takes possession of Chase.
Alpha Flight attack him and Lucas manages, with the help of the old shaman, to kill him, marking his fate.
