The Living Brain, kept at Oscorp, manages to send a message to Curt Connors, who is charged with studying it.
The Message says: “Peter Parker is not Spider-Man.”
Curt notifies Peter and Norman Osborn, who meet to talk about it.
Among other information transmitted by the Living Brain are passwords to Norman's hideout, so Peter discovers that the Green Goblin has returned.
As Spider-Man and the Green Goblin battle it out, the Living Brain builds himself a body and leaves the lab.
Goblin reveals to Spider-Man that he secretly conditioned him so that he could awaken the spirit of the Goblin within him, whom he thought had been eliminated.
