First appearance of Cloak and Dagger, the two teenage superheroes who fight drug dealers.
While chasing the drug dealer who has made them addicted, they come across Spider-man, who tries in vain to stop them.
The drug dealer dies under Dagger's blades of light, while Spider-man is stunned.
Peter Parker turns to a colleague at the Bugle for details on the dead drug dealer.
Turns out Marshall was giving experimental drugs to teens on Ellis Island and killed most of them
Cloak and Dagger tracked down Marshall's associates to punish them.
In fact, it was their drugs that transformed them as they are now, barely surviving.
Spider-man tries to stop them, but fails and all the culprits die.
Good story about drug addiction and revenge.

This time it's the X-men who triumph.
Wyngarde must face Phoenix directly, discovering that he has awakened the true nature of the cosmic creature, the destroyer of worlds.
His brain cannot hold its own and remains catatonic.
Jean Grey leaves the club confused, headed for Central Park.
When the other X-men reach her, they are faced with Black Phoenix.
At last pure action, John Byrne style.
The real protagonist is however Jean Grey and her defeat against the Phoenix.

Meanwhile Sebastian Shaw, seeking revenge, convinces Senator Kelly to use the Sentinels against the X-men.
One of Claremont's best stories is presented here fragmented into two books, unfortunately, undeservingly.
The fact remains that it is the apex of the Phoenix cycle, a masterpiece.
