“Justine”
based on the novel by the Marquis de Sade
The Marquis de Sade tells the story of two sisters Juliette and Justine, from his cell.
The girls grew up in a convent until their father went bankrupt and could no longer afford the tuition.
The women split up after being kicked out.
Justine ends up alone and abandoned, not wanting to give up her graces for the help of the town's parish priest.
Juliette, on the other hand, introduces herself to a maitresse, who hosts her in her brothel, where she gets a fair amount of fame.
Juliette was a prostitute for 11 years, until at 26 she seduced and married a count, becoming the Countess De Lorsange.
In this guise she finds her poor sister as she is led to the gallows.
Justine does not recognize her sister, but tells her her story.
Left without money, the young Justine asks for a job in Dubourg, a wealthy entrepreneur.
She refuses his advances, but Dubourg puts her in contact with Madame Delmonse, to be educated.
The woman offers her something to eat and convinces her to go back to the perverted bourgeois.
The two try to sodomize her, but Justine runs away.
She manages to find a job with an old man who offers her only room and board.
The experience ends when the man accuses her of theft and has her arrested.
Her cellmate, Dubois, helps her escape and together they return to the gang of thieves she belongs to.
Justine resists granting her virtue, but is still forced to undress and be touched by the 4 men and the woman.
To save the life of a victim of the gang, Justine ends up letting herself be sodomized.
As a thank you, after freeing him, the victim ends up raping her and taking her virginity.
Shortly thereafter she meets the Marquis of Bressac with her lover, who involve her in their perverse games and take her to their palace.
The Marquis's mother also gets involved in their perverse games, until Justine is forced to kill her.
After the Marquis comes the turn of a perverted elderly couple, with the same sadomasochistic tastes as the Marquis, who brutally take advantage of her.
When they finally get tired they send her away, but only after having branded her.
Justine finds hospitality in a convent, where the friars wildly abuse her, as well as other girls they are hosting.
Juliette listens heartbroken to her sister's confessions, eventually revealing her identity and offering to host her.
Justine is finally safe, but when she opens the window of her new home, lightning strikes and kills her.
Justine's death prompts Juliette to repent and become a nun.
Guido Crepax best expresses the perversions of the Marquis de Sade in this story.
Splendid.
