The monster is actually ugly, but it is the shameful minds of its creator, Victor Frankenstein, at the center of the tale.
Victor blames the monster for every misfortune in his life, while the monster seems to react accordingly.
Little eroticism in this story, apart from a few scenes with Frankenstein's wife, but not with her husband.
