Star Wars: Dark Empire II dal nr. 1 al 6
Original editor: Dark Horse Comics (under license from Lucasfilm Ltd)
publication date: December 1994 - June 1995
pencil: Cam Kennedy
story: Tom Veitch
Six-issue miniseries, collected in a single volume, which tells the adventures of the protagonists of the "Return of the Jedi", 6 years later.
Sequel to "Dark Empire".
The emperor seems dead, but the Empire does not stop.
Seven knights of the dark side, trained by Palpatine, are fighting the rebels.
The first target is a recently rebelled planet, where Imperial battle robots are produced.
The imperial attack fails, thanks to the new war machines kept secret.
The leader of the dark knights, Sedriss, returns to Byss and discovers that the emperor is still alive, in a new, younger body.
Meanwhile, the rebellion attempts a direct attack on Byss, the imperial planet.
Han and Leia return to the smuggler's planet Nar Shaddaa, to retrieve the old Jedi Vima, encountered on the first journey.
The Solos find the old woman, but also Boba Fett, who forces them to flee.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker travels to the Jedi planet Ossus, in search of ancient relics.
Here, he and Kam Solusar (a Jedi rescued from the dark side) find a tribe with Jedi powers, the Ysannas.
Sedriss attacks them on Ossus, but is defeated.
Two of them, brothers Jem and Rayf, decide to return with them to become Jedi.
Meanwhile, the emperor is building a new weapon, a cannon capable of launching projectiles directly on enemy planets.
Han and Leia reach a planet hidden in a cosmic cloud, ruled by a surviving Jedi with no arms and legs, Empatojayos, who decides to follow them.
The rebel attack on Byss fails.
Leia and Han join their children on the planet New Alderan, where they are protected by Leia's friend, Winter.
Luke Skywalker returns to the rebel base, just in time to see the planet destroyed by the Emperor's cannon.
Luke heads to New Alderan, where he falls in love with Gem.
Gem is killed by the Dark Knights who attack Luke.
Lando Calrissian and Wedge save New Alderaan on their way back from Byss, then all together join the rebels in the new secret base.
Too many stories crossed for a 6-issue miniseries. Understanding suffers.
Another criticism: due to too many characters, every two / three pages all the characters are presented in the clouds, extending the texts excessively.
