A former imperial elite guard, Kir Kanos, is on the run from the imperial forces.
A colleague of his, the only other survivor, Lord Jax, is now in command of the Empire and is responsible for Palpatine's death, having corrupted the clones.
Kanos temporarily allies with the rebels, managing to kill Jax.
After the battle he leaves the rebels, making them his enemies.

No story from the comic book series prior to the Disney purchase (October 30, 2012) was recognized in the new continuity.
