Tony Stark is introduced to the hyper-realistic works of a new sculptor, Paul St. Pierre.
His employee Marcy thinks she has recognized a former colleague and friend in one of the statues, thus starting to investigate.
At a reception honoring the artist, Marcy sneaks into his studio, discovering that Paul St. Pierre is actually the super-villain Gargoyle.

Baron Von Strucker massacres the village to hide the existence of the Gnobians.
Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos attack Strucker and severely injure him.
The baron manages to drag himself away from the mother of the Gnobians, who heals him by completely merging their minds.
Von Strucker uses alien technology to found HYDRA and AIM.
The evil absorbed by the mother will corrupt her over the years, up to today's version, obsessed with Strucker's ideals.
The only hope for the Gnobians is the purity of Lump, separated from his race before merging with the baron.
