Bruce Banner works for the army to build the gamma bomb.
On the day of testing, in the presence of General Thunderbolt Ross and his daughter Betty, Bruce runs into the blast zone to save the life of Rick Jones, a boy who infiltrated as a bet.
Bruce saves Rick's life, but is irradiated by the explosion.
When he recovers, he almost immediately undergoes the transformation into Hulk, in front of Rick Jones.
Hulk escapes into the desert, followed at a distance by the boy.

Loki, constantly seeking revenge against Thor, telepathically provokes Hulk to derail a train.
Rick Jones reads the news in the papers and convinces his friends, the Youth Brigade, to ask the Fantastic Four for help.
The call is intercepted by Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp and Iron Man, who intervene in place of the (committed) Fab Four.
Thor attacks Hulk, but it turns out to be an illusion of Loki (although Thor doesn't understand it).
The real Hulk is in a circus, where he does stunts pretending to be a robot, Mechano.
Hulk is attacked by the new group of heroes, who fail to capture him.
Thor discovers Loki's involvement and captures him.
Upon arriving on Earth, Loki attacks the other heroes, but is easily defeated, also aided by Hulk.
The Avengers born!

Dr. Donald Blake has built a very intelligent and human-like android, but green.
Thor participates in the presentation, demonstrating the strength of the invention.
A malfunction forces Thor to destroy the automaton.
His partner in the project, Professor Zaxton, kidnaps Jane Foster to force Blake to collaborate in the second phase of his project, creating human duplicates.
With his incredible machine, Zaxton doubles Thor (complete with a hammer!)
Thor destroys the duplicate and stops Zaxton, who created his own duplicate before dying, but not evil.
