Thor must return to Asgard to save Jane Foster, who was kidnapped by Loki while facing the Absorbing Man.
Thor manages to save her, but Loki accuses him before Odin of bringing a mortal to Asgard, violating his father's laws.
Odin calls a trial against Thor and Loki to find out the truth, but gives Thor 48 hours to bring Jane back to Earth and defeat the Absorbing Man.
Thor uses the power of Mjolnir to transform Absorbing Man into helium and disperse it in the atmosphere.

The Mole Man, allied with the Red Ghost, is unable to stop them.

The Avengers foil a robbery of the Maggia (the mafia of the Marvel universe).
The head of the Maggia, the Count Nefaria (clearly Italian, even if it is not specified), decides to intervene personally.
Known as a wealthy noble, he comes to the United States with his castle and invites the Avengers to visit it.
He manages to block them in stasis in their rooms and in the meantime sends robots with their appearance to threaten the American government, declaring war on it.
When the Avengers break free, they must face the army.
