London, 1769
Lady Janice Mitchcombe decides to leave England and go to Paris.
She is joined by the beautiful Victoria, left alone after the death of the Viscount, who becomes her lover.
In Paris they meet an old friend of her late husband, who abuses them, knowing her secret.
Meanwhile, Lady Caroline ponders revenge and pursues her with Blaine, the man who brought Janice from prison to the Viscount.
Janice and Victoria suffer the tortures of the rich Parisian.
The next day they decide to leave alone for Venice, where they hope to be independent.
During the journey by ship they are attacked by pirates who take them prisoner.
On the pirate ship they suffer all kinds of abuse, but Janice also finds the servant Horace, who has been sold as a slave.
The two women are about to be sold at the slave market when the British army intervenes and saves them.
Leading the army is Blaine, but Janice does not meet him personally.
In Venice they find Lady Caroline and they rely on her to discover the pleasures of carnival.
After a long series of erotic adventures, the woman attempts to kill them, but Blaine refuses.
Caroline kills Blaine, before falling into the canal and perishing.
Janice marries Horace and spends the rest of her life in Venice, sharing her handsome husband with her friend Victoria.
I can't help but see a lot of similarities between Von Gotha's style and mine.
I discovered this author late, when many of my stories were ready, but it is likely that in the development phase, there was some influence!
