A mob boss, Slugger Sykes, agrees with a scientist to throw a robot at Thor.
The robot is called Replicus and it seems invincible.
Sykes, however, discovers that the scientist is actually an alien, who wants to use the Replicus robots to conquer Earth.
Slugger Sykes sacrifices himself to kill the scientist and Replicus stops working.

The scientist is a valuable resource, but is attacked by the Sons of the Serpent, a racist group that is spreading.
Goliath finds him after the attack and decides to face the criminals with the Avengers.
