General Ling tries to shoot Black Widow, to prevent her from destroying the Psychotron, but the Red Guardian protects her with his body.
A second blow injures Natasha and Hawkeye saves her.
Hercules destroys the Psychotron from the inside and manages to escape with the other Avengers.
General Ling and the Red Guardian die in the explosion.
Later, at the hospital, Natasha relates that her husband Alexi was pronounced dead while testing a secret weapon.
She had become a spy to honor his memory.
Captain America reveals that Alexi died protecting her.
