Thor is hit by a stun beam as he flies over New York.
Responsible is a misunderstood scientist, Jasper Whyte, who wants to steal half of his power.
Jasper transfers the stolen power into an automaton of his own creation, Crypto-Man, which he unleashes against the city.
Donald Blake learns his identity from his mother, who asked him for help as a colleague of the son.
Thor confronts Crypto-Man, but fails to stop him.
The automaton is programmed to reach the city's nuclear power plant and absorb its energy.
Thor convinces Jasper Whyte of the danger of his plan, but the only way to stop Crypto-Man is to blow it up along with the scientist.
Donald Blake can do nothing but inform the woman of her son's death, praising his sacrifice.

The Avengers accompany Black Panther to the kingdom of Wakanda.
They discover that the nation is much more evolved than the rest of the world knows.
M’Baku is governing in the absence of T’Challa and does not want to give up his power, aided by faithful adviser N’Gamo.
During the dinner he drugs the Avengers.
When Black Panther awakens, he is challenged by M’Baku, who now wears the costume of the White Gorilla, a cult antagonistic to that of the Panther.
The Ape-man defeats Black Panther, but when he is about to kill him, Vision's intervention causes the Panther statue above him to collapse, killing him.
This story greatly inspired the plot of the film of the same name, even if the characters were different.

The astrologer and his men followed him to Natasha's apartment and attack her to get him back.
Black Widow confronts them, but when one of them is about to knock her off the ledge, the boy sacrifices himself to save her.
