The story begins with a revelation: Mojo is hiding behind Gameworld.
Cordyceps Jones, the current director, stole control from him thanks to his mushrooms that telepathically control victims.
Mojo has pushed Gameworld to challenge Earth, especially the X-Men and Avengers, in hopes that they will defeat the usurper.
Wolverine (X-23), Rogue, Jane Grey and Polaris attack Gameworld.
Captain Krakoa (Cyclops) and Synch descend into the sewers to search for Dr. Stasis and take their revenge.
Wolverine becomes possessed by Cordyceps Jones and attacks Jane.
Captain Krakoa confronts Dr. Stasis and unmasks him, revealing Sinister (apparently with no memory).
The new plot is interesting, complex enough to attract attention.
