Tony Stark is aboard an airliner when a robber attempts a theft.
The thief's name is Switchback, and he's a former agent of Project Weapon X.
His goal is the plans for a new Bomb of Madness, to resell them.
Iron Man chases him out of the plane, ending up in the desert with his armor damaged.
He manages to recover the loot.
He discovers that a criminal organization, Source Control, is buying weapons all over the world, for an unknown purpose.
He talks to Jim Rhodes about it and learns that Vic Martinelli knew something, but is now dead.
