Before the battle in Central Park, Spider-Man visits his friend Randy in the hospital.

Under Tombstone's command, the gang leaves the super-heroes to face Madame Masque alone, and then attacks them when they are weaker.
Nefaria and Silvermane are about to kill Spider-Man, until the killer Grapeshot frees them from Madame Masque's mystical control.
Without them and with the help of Luke Cage, Jackpot and Spider-Boy, the battle ends quickly and Madame Masque is defeated and captured.
Randy awakens from a coma, Fisk's anti-superhero law is repealed, and Tombstone becomes the new crime boss.
