The Avengers are looking for new members.
The current components are: Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Power Man, Wasp, Jocasta and Beast.
At the base come Hercules, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Angel, Yellowjacket, Dazzler, Tigra, Black Panther and Iceman.
They are joined shortly after by Moon Knight, Moondragon.
Eventually the remaining members are: Tigra, Captain America, Thor, Wasp, Iron Man and Yellowjacket.

Alpha Flight reaches the Master's base, but the entrance is full of traps.
Meanwhile, the Master of the World is torturing Marinna, while he tells her about his origins.
He was born 40,000 years earlier, during the ice age. He met a fallen spaceship, which grabbed him and transformed him as he is now.
In the ending Sub-Mariner and the Invisible Woman appear in front of the Master of the World.

Flashback to Aurora's past, when she discovered her mutant powers.
She grew up in a girls' boarding school, where any violation was punished with a cane.
The night she used her flying power she left without permission and then on her return they punished her.
The experience gave rise to a double personality: one austere, the other perverse.
