Captain America is invited to a performance by Team America, a group of professional stunt-men who perform on motorcycles.
During the performance, a yellow monster appears and kidnaps a scientist from the audience. Cap and Team America follow him inside a dimensional vortex.
They arrive in a village inhabited by the greatest minds in history (Einstein and Twain are among the first they meet).
The village is the work of the Mad Thinker, who at first appears to have humanitarian purposes, but then it turns out that he intends to replace important people with android copies under his control.
The Marauder, a mysterious biker in black, intervenes to save them.

Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) is the newest member of the Avengers (as seen in the adventures of Spider-Man).
Meanwhile, Hank Pym is in prison awaiting trial and receives a visit from Dr. Paul Edmonds, a psychiatrist, to whom he tells the story of his life.
The psychiatrist believes his innocence and contacts Iron Man, who, however, does not think the culprit is Egg Head, as he believes him dead.

Trial of Hank Pym is held.
Meanwhile, Egg Head receives a visit from Dr. Chen Lu, The Radioactive Man. With them is Dr. Karla Sofen (Moonstone), joined by Tiger Shark, Shocker and Beetle. They call themselves the Lords of Evil.
Egg Head sends its associates to attack the court, feigning an escape attempt organized by Pym.
Despite the presence of the Avengers, the criminals flee carrying Pym from Egg Head.
Shocker is captured and claims to have been paid by Pym.
