The regular chronology returns, picking up on Mother Superior and Baron Zemo, busy revisiting past events to reconstruct Helmut Zemo's Nazi mentality.
Once indoctrinated, Zemo is ready to meet the Red Skull.
The two capture an old friend of Cap, Dave Cox, who lost an arm in the war and who had helped him against the Snake Squadron, as well as in love with Sharon Carter, believed dead.
Captain America and Nomad argue after having foiled a robbery, due to the excessive violence shown by his partner.
After moving away, he is attacked by Dave, who has become the Slayer.
The Slayer stuns Captain America and prepares to do the same with Nomad.

Meanwhile, Janet Van Dyne, on holiday by the sea, begins a relationship with Paul Denning and meets Baron Walther Theodoric.
Before going to a baron's party she discovers that Paul is a hitman ready to kill him and runs to warn him.
In reality Theodoric is Baron Brimstone, a robber, while Paul Denning is Paladin, a hero for hire.
Wasp and Paladin defeat the Baron.
