Hawkeye invites the Thing to the base and offers him to join the Avengers.
While at the base, he rescues Firebird, aka Bonita Juarez, who has arrived in search of help.
The girl received her powers from a meteorite and joined with Night Rider, Shooting Star, Texas Twister and Red Wolf in a superhero group.
She asked for their help because she was attacked by Pandemonium, a being made up of demons, in search of the "five".
Pandemonium shortly after attacks The Thing in the ring (we are in the period in which he is a professional wrestler), but the Avengers intervene.
Pandemonium manages to escape and it turns out he is looking for the five pieces of his soul.
