contains the following story:
“Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”
based on the novel by Robert L. Stevenson
The story is set in late 19th century Victorian London.
Henry Jekyll is a wealthy scientist and catches the attention of his friends when, inexplicably, he names a stranger named Edward Hyde as his sole heir.
Hyde is an obscene man, who frequents the same circles as Jekyll, but devoid of inhibitions.
A friend of Jekyll's, the lawyer Utterson, begins to investigate Hyde after the assault on a little girl, beaten in the street.
When they see him killing a deputy with his cane, the police also join the hunt.
Utterson inquires from Jekyll, who informs him of Hyde's final disappearance.
As proof he gives him a letter in which the man declares his escape.
Utterson discovers that the writing is Jekyll's.
During his research, the lawyer discovers that Hyde has all kinds of perversions, girls, men and women.
Several months after Hyde's disappearance, Utterson is called by Jekyll's butler.
His master has disappeared and a stranger (Hyde) lives in his laboratory.
Under pressure, Hyde ends up committing suicide with cyanide.
Dr. Jekyll is missing, but leaves a letter to his friend and a will, with Utterson as beneficiary.
Even dr. Lanyon, Jekyll's former friend, left in a letter, in which he reveals that he witnessed Hyde's transformation into Jeckyll himself.
Jekyll confesses that he did research to be able to physically divide his public side, perfect and polite, from his perverse fantasies, succeeding.
How Mr. Hyde can satisfy his most obscene desires, but he begins to fear them.
After the incident with the girl he tries to suppress Hyde, but boredom brings him back to look for him, until the transformation occurs naturally, without the potion.
Utterson decides not to reveal his discovery to anyone.
Jekyll killed Hyde, who wanted to take over.
Intriguing and complex work by Crepax, where the narration of the facts is accidentally interrupted by very strong erotic images, flashes of Hyde's perversions.
Like his other transpositions, a graphic masterpiece full of details and scenic inventions.
