Volume created on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition organized at the Santa Chiara Cultural Center in Trento, from March 31, to May 9, 1999.
Long and in-depth analysis of science fiction comics, starting from the end of the 19th century.
It begins with American proto-science fiction between 1896 and 1910, passing by Jules Verne, to get to Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.
The most famous comic books on the subject are listed, published in Italy between 1934 (Flash Gordon, on "L'Avventuroso" n. 1) and Martin Mystère (1989).

Moebius, works from 1974 to 1997 (the table starring "The Punisher" by Marvel Comics is splendid).
HR Giger, works from 1976 to 1993, the visionary artist who inspired Riddley Scott's "Alien".
Enki Bilal, works from 1989 to 1998, who culminated his artistic career with the film "Immortal ad Vitam", from 2004, inspired by his comics.
The volume ends with the proposal of some new Bonelli characters (at the time!): Nathan Never and Legs Weaver.
