During Easter 1494 Alexander VI organizes a masquerade ball in the Vatican, under the banner of free sex.
During the party Alexander VI and his daughter Lucrezia have an incestuous relationship.
After the relationship, to help him overcome the trauma, Lucrezia offers him to take her cousin Giulia Farnese (Lucrezia's former lover in the convent) as a concubine.
Giulia enthusiastically accepts, but reminds the Pope that she is betrothed to his nephew, Orso Orsini.
Alexander VI blinds Orsini and has him locked up for life in the dungeons of his castle.
The plague breaks out in Rome and Lucrezia discovers she is pregnant (she doesn't know if she is from her brother or from her father).
Lucrezia tries to have an abortion, with the help of a witch, but fails in the end.
Meanwhile, the Pope bribes the astrologer Agrippa to manipulate the decisions of Charles VIII, King of France, who has Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere, his ally, locked up.
Charles VIII manages to capture Giulia Farnese, blackmailing the Pope for her release.
Alexander VI allows him to conquer Naples and offers him his son Cesare as a hostage instead of his lover.
Cesare Borgia follows the King of France to Naples, but then manages to escape.
