Springfield is in the midst of an economic crisis, so the merchants decide to keep open 24 hours a day.
All the inhabitants become sleepless, to the delight of Mr. Burns, who sees energy consumption multiply.
The effects of insomnia don't take long to appear and everyone starts behaving strangely.
As it began, it all ends when Burns turns off the power, allowing everyone to sleep.
