Mythological tale set during the Trojan War.
Near the city enemy of the Greeks there is a forest, within which the Amazons live.
Having abandoned coexistence with males for generations, Amazons survive by kidnapping warriors and using them for reproduction.
They are absolutely devoted to Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.
In her name they kill male children at birth, keeping only female children.
The queen is forbidden to mate with normal warriors, but only with kings and gods.
By chance she is captured by Achilles, with whom she ends up falling in love.
Her warriors come to free her and Achilles is left for dead.
When the queen gives birth to a male, she refuses to kill him like the others and leaves the tribe.
The fate of the Amazons is however sealed and after the fall of Troy, they decide to change their habits.
The pastel drawings are perfect for this story and Rossi's style is captivating and sensual.
A nice story.
