The trolls declare war on Asgard.
Thor and Lady Sif are attacked and as Thor confronts Ulik, the strongest of the trolls, Sif is kidnapped.
King Geirrodur of the trolls decides to send Sif to Earth, where Thor will be weaker, to force him to save her and leave Asgard helpless.
Thor falls into the trap of the Troll King and begins the hunt for Ulik.

Wasp detects a threat from the sea and suspects it is Namor.
Hank Pym refuses to help her, too busy with his experiments, so Janet intervenes alone.
Wasp is captured, but on the undersea ship she finds Attuma, intent on conquering the surface with artificially created tsunamis.
Wasp manages to send a signal for help to the Avengers who intervene (with the exception of Hawkeye, temporarily removed).
The Avengers are captured by Attuma.

Hawkeye returns to the base and finds it deserted.
While trying to find out where the companions are, he is attacked by the Beetle.
Hawkeye captures him and tracks down the Avengers at sea.
Quicksilver manages to escape from Attuma's ship and is rescued by Hawkeye.
Together they set out in search of Attuma and his companions.
