Tony Stark is rushed to the hospital, where they undergo surgery after Kathy Dare shot him in the chest.
The woman was arrested, but her lawyer presents her as a victim, harassed by Tony.
His friends are worried about his fate, including Tigra, who joins him at the hospital.
Eventually the surgeon announces that Tony Stark is safe, but will remain paralyzed.

Power Princess (Wonder Woman) appears on TV to explain her utopian philosophy, but Doctor Spectrum (Green Lantern) plays a joke on her, undoing her costume and leaving her topless.
The woman gets angry at the humiliation, but does not follow up on the threats.
Nuke (Atom) loses control after his parents die and Doctor Spectrum and Tom Thumb step in to calm him down.
In the fight, Atom is killed by Doctor Spectrum.
