The story begins with Black Widow saving Daredevil at the last moment.
Daredevil is faced with Mister Fear, who again uses his terror gas against him.
This time Daredevil manages to resist and unmasks him, revealing Larry Cranston.
Cranston took over from the real Mister Fear, Zoltan Drago, after Starr Saxon assassinated him.
Cranston breaks free and tries to escape by jumping off the roof, but he no longer has his rockets and plummets.
In the ending Daredevil discovers that Black Widow is missing.

Iron Man must fight Happy Hogan, who has been experimented on by the Mandarin and is threatening Pepper Potts.
Iron Man manages to get her to safety and traps Happy in a van filled with anesthetic gas.

Tony Stark manages to restore Happy Hogan to normal.
At the same time, in Russia, another man is undergoing a similar experiment, being empowered.
The man reveals himself to be the Unicorn, who uses his newfound power to attack a scientific congress, which is also attended by Tony Stark.
Wearing the Iron Man armor he can face him and manages to disarm him.
The Unicorn throws himself into the sea to recover the equipment, never re-emerging.
