Rich Tale inspired by a Chinese legend.
The Monkey is born from an egg and his very existence alarms the gods.
Gathering a group of worshipers, mostly beautiful naked women, the Monkey almost immediately begins to irritate the Jade Emperor.
His first fault is that he distracted the Emperor during an orgy with his young and beautiful courtesans (a practically constant routine!).
The Monkey envies the gods and starts looking for a way to become immortal.
Learn the secret of immortality from a sage, from whom he also learns magic.
Still dissatisfied, the Monkey finds a weapon worthy of him, an invincible stick.
His increased power still irritates the Jade Emperor, who seduces him with a position of power at the palace.
The Emperor manages to hold him back for a short time, but the clash soon breaks out.
Finding no other way to stop him, the Emperor asks Buddha for help, who finally manages to defeat the Monkey and imprison him.
In the various adventures described, one senses a vein of protest from the authors, with reference to the political situation of the 60s-70s.
An enormous work by Manara, from a graphic point of view, with the inclusion of an infinite number of mischievous and intriguing little details in the tables.
