Story set in Harlem, in 1947.
Guido Crepax tells the story of Johnny Lincoln, a black musician who accidentally rescues a white prostitute.
The woman witnessed a murder and now she is the target.
Johnny hides her at his house, but neither his mother nor his girlfriend accept her.
Polly leaves the shelter and is killed.
Johnny, angry with everyone, wants to take revenge, but luckily a rival gang anticipates him.
Johnny leaves town to play in a new band.
Guido Crepax deals with his other great passion (after women and eroticism): Jazz!
