Spider-man confronts the Punisher.
The Punisher takes out a Guru, making it front page in the Daily Bugle.
The corpse of the Guru also attracts a lot of attention in the morgue, due to a ring on the nose.
As Frank Castle is about to remove it with a knife, he is stopped by Doctor Octopus, who steals the body.
The Punisher follows him to his underwater lair and so does Spider-man.
Octavius wants to blackmail the city by threatening to release a toxic gas derived from the ring, which was sprinkled with poison.
Spider-man and the Punisher manage to stop him.
Despite the two respectable superheroes, at the center of the story is J.J. Jameson and his journalism, even if viewed in an ironic way.
Miller's style is approaching the more famous one, such as Daredevil or Sin City.

Wolverine begins his counterattack by eliminating the agents of the Hellfire Club.
Upstairs, the Club's Inner Circle enjoys their triumph over the X-men, tied and helpless in front of them.
The Black Queen is completely under Wyngarde's control and sees her comrades as captured revolutionaries.
The only hope to free her is Cyclops, with whom she has established a special bond after making love.
Scott enters his mind and confronts Wyngarde in a duel, but is defeated.
Meanwhile, Wolverine is making his way into the club's premises, with claws.
The story is straightforward and a bit degrading for the submissive X-Men, but the most important aspect is the Wolverine presentation.
For the first time, the former secret agent is seen in action, ruthless and lethal, who will be reprized in the series dedicated to him.
