Puma helps Peter Parker recover lost memories with a Native American shamanic ritual.
During the ritual both have hallucinations regarding their animal versions (the puma and the spider), but they achieve their goal.

As part of the deal made to perform the ritual, Spider-Man and Puma battle it out in the desert.
The clash ends with a reconciliation.
Meanwhile, in New York, Mary Jane invites her colleague Jason to her home.
He thinks he has finally conquered his prey, but M.J. just wants to show him how much she loves her husband and orders him not to be seen again.

The story begins with Shocker, haunted by nightmares about Spider-Man, the Punisher and the Scourge of Crime, while serving his sentence in prison.
The following day he gets parole, while Kingpin is interested in keeping an eye on him.
The Beetle is then glimpsed, obtaining a new costume from the Repairman, Speed-Demon, Hydro-Man, Boomerang and Rhino, gathered in an assembly of the Sinister Syndicate.
The Sinister Syndicate collides with Spider-Man and only Boomerang is arrested.
