Science fiction story set in space.
Morgana and Red return to the Great Library, but discover that Voortt has survived Krritt.
While Sophia is tried and condemned by the Presbyter, Voortt attacks the Great Library.
Merlin is dismantled and Morgana captured.
While torturing her, Voortt discovers that the lock of hair he kept in memory of Alix belongs to Morgana, but he doesn't immediately believe her.
When Morgana manages to escape with the help of Merlin, who survived only in his central memory unit, Voortt is unable to kill her.
Meanwhile, Red secretly meets with Montego of Presbyter, immediately after he betrayed Sophia and had her convicted.
Both are part of a secret sect that protects the legacy of Emperor Darius.
Morgana, Red's pupil, will have to become the Secret Empress or die.
Morgana is tracked down by Red and together they attack Vroott, to prevent him from uniting the arcana.
They arrive too late and Morgana remains naked before Vroott's power, who however recognizes her as his beloved Alix.
Thor has returned to his senses after the fusion of the Arcana and agrees to escape with her and destroy them, but Red kills him, trying to save Alix.
The arcana explode along with the sun that Thor used to fuse them and Morgana and Rosso are lost in space.
