The protagonist of the story is Missis Fosca, wife of a Carabineer officer and producer for a movie studio.
A crew is lost in India while filming a medieval costume movie and Fosca is sent to find them.
With her three assistants: Steve, Fabio and Giuseppe Bergman (driver of the van).
The group retraces the journey of the first troupe, ending up in various more or less surreal misadventures.
Meanwhile, the military is preparing to test a new bomb right in the area of Tibet where they are headed.
When Fosca and Bergman finally reach the monastery where the survivors of the troupe have taken refuge, they are all destroyed by the bomb.
Manara uses the story to show famous and fascinating places in India, certainly after a personal visit.
In this deluxe edition, the story is correlated with photographs from the trip.
