First appearance of Midnighter and Apollo.
Henry Bendix, when he was still the Weatherman, created a secret Stormwatch team in his laboratory.
On their first mission, 5 died and two escaped.
5 years have passed since that day and Midnighter and Apollo have been acting incognito, fighting crime.
Now Jackson King and Christine Trelane have found Bendix's secret documents and uncovered their existence.
Midnighter and Apollo discover a trafficking ring of advanced weapons, built in the “Garden in Nevada”.

As Midnighter and Apollo search for information on the Garden, Stormwatch alarms go off and the Weatherman tracks them down.
When Jackson King discovers that in the “Garden in Nevada”, created by Engineer, weapons are being created and then sold to crime, he decides not to attack the two deserters, but to recruit them.
Midnighter and Apollo agree to return to Stormwatch after learning that Bendix has been killed.
They tell King how their comrades died (Their powers are clearly reminiscent of DC Comics' Justice League. Midnighter is obviously Batman, while Apollo is Superman).

Bendix's secret team was supposed to recover a Bio-Engine for Bendix, but they didn't know its strength and were defeated.
The two fugitives easily capture the “Garden in Nevada,” handing it over to Stormwatch.
In “A Better World” Warren Ellis begins a more explicit approach to Wildstorm stories.
In the first scene Midnighter and Apollo are naked during a stakeout, suggesting their intimate relationship (which will later lead to marriage).
Jackson King and Christine Trelane sleep in the same bed, in the Skywatch docks, while Fahrenheit and Hellstrike destroy their room on the ship by having sex.

The fundamental difference from the original Wildstorm reality appears to be that the existence of the Kherans is secret.
Hawksmoor has been kidnapped by the Kherans in this reality and is now preparing to prevent their return.

Jackson King refuses to send Stormwatch agents into the Bleed to aid the parallel world.
This decision puts him at odds with Winter.
Meanwhile, Hawksmoor has gathered all the ESPs of his Earth and prepares for battle.
Jackson King manages to warn him that Zealot is of the same race as the alien invaders and this allows Stormwatch to sacrifice themselves and destroy the alien ship.
