The third chapter of the series is set in Ur, in the time before the Egyptians.
Eanna is the queen of Ur, alongside King Abban, her husband.
Their reign is peaceful, until they are betrayed by the master of arms Dumuzi, who kills the king and hands over the throne to the "Lizard", Mesilim, who rules the nearby city.
Eanna is taken prisoner and Mesilim offers her a marriage of convenience.
She scratches him and for this she is first whipped, then bitten in the breast by one of her snakes, then raped repeatedly.
Believed to be dying, she is abandoned in the desert to die.
Lilith, the first woman, appears to her aid and pushes her to resist, as she is pregnant with Abban.
Eanna is saved by passing nomads and stays with them.
A few years later she meets her handmaid again, who had escaped the massacre and together they decide to take back the throne.
Eanna comes to court in the guise of a dancer and manages to enchant Mesilim.
In the bedroom she poisons him to death.
Returned to power, Eanna dedicates a temple to Lilith and establishes the sect of the Daughters of Lilith.
Acciarino's drawings are very beautiful, supporting a well-organized story.

Messalina, Empress of Rome alongside the old Claudius, spends her nights pretending to be a prostitute.
She is part of the Daughters of Lilith, who helped her achieve her prestigious role, but is more interested in personal power.
The Sons of Mars begin to move against them (in the Roman Empire Jews and Christians were not well regarded, so "Sons of Adam" would have been inappropriate).
When Messalina's behavior becomes unmanageable, both the Daughters of Lilith and the Sons of Mars plan her death.
Messalina is killed by the Roman centurions after divorcing Claudius (without warning him! In those days a letter was enough to have a divorce).
Less successful story than the previous one, even if Dominici's work is impeccable.
