Meanwhile, Reed Richards discovers that the spores are not due to his probe, but to the perverse plans of Emil Burbank, the evil genius in the Squadron universe, motivated by the low notoriety he reputed due to the arrival of Hyperion (aka Lex Luthor and Superman).
In support of Reed come the X-men.
Loeb's intervention makes the story even more complicated.

Gah Lak Tus now controls the orbital station, which plunges towards Earth.
Vision saves only Dima from the massacre, but the satellite does not crash, instead transforming itself into an evolved version of the robots that make up Gah Lak Tus.
Peterson's particular style holds up a confused and overly sadistic story about this version of AIM.
