Ohmen is the firstborn of a warrior of the Protectorate, one of the two perpetually warring factions on the planet Egena.
Like all children on the planet, he is trained to become a warrior from childhood and his father acts as his instructor.
The secret of Egena's warriors is hidden in a living stone that is implanted in their chest in adolescence and which allows them to draw on great energy.
Unfortunately both factions have the stone, keeping the parties in balance.
The enemies of the Protectorate are represented by the Directorate and the King and his two sons.
Soon after Ohmen obtains his stone, the academy is attacked by the Directorate and his father is killed.
The attack was organized by Prince Rijian, who had been sent by his father to Earth through a portal.
Here he has developed a special stone, more powerful than the others, with which he intends to take power.
A few years later Ohmen, now an adult, ends up falling into the portal to Earth, where he is saved by a human girl.

Ohmen, now the costumed hero known as Union, has moved to New York with his girlfriend Jill.
Union has conquered the Regent's staff and can now use its powers on Earth.
After a fight with ESP thieves, Union is summoned by Stormwatch and Weatherman offers him to join the reserves if he can keep a low profile.
An alien called the Crusader appears near his apartment, engaged in a fight with his friend Serren, who he thought was dead after crossing the portal with him.
Serren is under the control of an unknown criminal.

Serren frees himself from the criminal's telepathic control, without remembering his identity.
Together with Union and the Crusader they leave to face him.
They reach the criminal's base in China and discover that he is Mnemo, an alien with telepathic powers.
Serren had always remained under his control after his arrival on Earth and now Mnemo prefers to kill him than free him.
Union can only prevent his friend from exploding within the atmosphere.
Mnemo's escape convinces Weatherman to admit Union to the Stormwatch reserve.
