Valentina meets Bruno after 7 years and the passion is reborn.
Valentina is 37 years old and faces her maturity with doubts and uncertainties, linked to the awareness of her desires.
Philip's betrayal is more psychological than physical (even if the betrayal still took place).
Eventually Bruno leaves for Germany and the problem resolves itself, but the awareness of the betrayal deeply marks Valentina's character.
PS: This story was beautifully rendered in the TV version of the series.

Philip and Mattia leave for the United States to meet their grandparents.
In the initial part of the story, Valentina faces loneliness, remembering with nostalgia the meeting that recently took place with Bruno.
When Philip returns from New York he is not alone.
He is accompanied by four strangers, who are hosted in the house, 2 men and 2 women.
Valentina immediately senses that something is wrong, but does not recognize the underground in the guests until it is too late.
Discovering the truth, she runs home and finds Philip being sodomized by one of the women, actually a transvestite.
Philip confesses that he is in their power and does not know how to free himself.
He promises to find a solution, but when Valentina returns from work again, she finds the house empty.
