A group of pirates hijacked an airliner and killed all the passengers, except for a Japanese man and the prettiest girls.
When they start raping the prisoners, Wolverine comes to their rescue.
Logan is believed dead by the whole world, along with other members of the X-Men (actually hiding in Australia).
Wolverine intervened against the pirates to save the Japanese man, an assistant of Mariko Yashida.
The man was supposed to bring the Muramasa sword back to Japan, but he entrusted the task to someone else.
The sword is sought after by a Japanese sect, The Black Blade.
Logan arrives too late to save the man.
Logan reaches Madripoor airport and locates the courier.
The beautiful American girl is called Lindsey McCabe, roommate of Jessica Drew (aka Spider-Woman), whom Logan met in San Francisco with the X-Men.
Lindsey is attacked by the Black Blade, but Logan saves her.
The young woman does not recognize him (thanks to an eye patch), but reveals to him that the sword is in Jessica's hands.

Kitty Pryde, a guest of Moira MacTaggart's house, is haunted by strange nightmares involving the X-Men, which she believes are dead.
When news of their deaths reaches the Braddock house in London, Psylocke's brother Brian (aka Captain Britain) starts drinking again.
His girlfriend Meggan decides to ask Kitty for help.
Nightcrawler is also shocked by the deaths of the X-Men and vents in the Danger Room.
Nightcrawler and Kitty are visited by Gatecrasher and her Technets, tasked by the Majestrix of the Omniverse, Opal Luna Saturnine, to capture Phoenix (Rachel Summers).
Rachel, meanwhile, is traveling between dimensions, confused.
During the first meeting between Kitty and Opal, the young woman is fascinated by the beauty of the woman.
A detail that will be resumed morbidly later.
